Printing Methods

Cuttable Materials (Flock & Flex)

The colour is coated onto a backing paper. A computer plotter is used to cut the design out and then unwanted material is pealed away. The design is then applied to the t-shirt using a heat press and the backing paper is removed. The result is an extremely durable print.

There are two types of cuttable material; flex material produce a smooth finish and flock material produce a more textures surface. In both cases the designs are extremely durable. A range of colours is available as well as glitter, glow-in-the-dark and metallic materials.

While it is possible to layer colours up to produce a design that consists of several colours this method of production is best suited to producing designs that contain blocks of single colours, such as slogans and sport shirt names and numbers. Cuttable materials make a very cost effective alternative to screen printing for runs of less than 25 garments.
